Last Minute Date Ideas for Valentine's Day
Whether you are a Valentine's scrooge or you love the hearts and flowers and balloons, there is no escaping the fast approaching day of romance. So we have come up with our top 3 last minute date ideas to help you and your other half celebrate the 14th Feb.
1. It's easy to come up with fun and romantic dates in the summer months, you can go for a long stroll at the seaside, take a picnic to the park or go to an open air cinema and snuggle up. But of course Valentine's Day falls in the cold and wintry February so these options are all off the table unless you fancy adding hypothermia to your gift list.
However if you are looking to do something fun and adventurous (ish) then why not go ice skating? It is a winter thing to do and holding hands whilst skating around could be a lovely and romantic way to spend your Valentine's evening.
If you're in the area, head to the pop up 'Luminocity' ice rink at Canary Wharf! With 8km of colour changing LED lights laid underneath the ice, it is a magical atmosphere perfect for a couple of lovebirds.
2. A meal out is a classic Valentine's date. But if you are looking for something more exciting, why not try something different and take your partner for dinner on the Bluebell Railway? Board the quirky steam train in Sussex for an extravagant 3 course meal and celebrate Valentine's Day in style. Plus this gives the ladies a chance to dress up and maybe get something new for the occasion. (PS. This would be the perfect place to pop the question if that was something you had planned...)
3. If you want to avoid the crowded restaurants and bars, then a home cooked meal is always a winner. A romantic meal in for 2, lovingly prepared is a great way of showing your love.
But if you are no Heston Blumenthal, then Marks and Spencer has got a Valentine's dine in offer: Choose a starter, main, side, dessert, chocolates and Prosecco, from their set menu, for just £20 for both of you! The offer starts today and ends on the 14th so don't forget to nip to the shops this weekend.
Whatever you do this Valentine's Day, whether you are coupled up or still looking for the one, we hope you have a great night with the people you love.
